Opportunities

With the new ERP system in place, there are some opportunities to tap into the web-based transactions platform. This is typically not seen in most fitness centers, however in our society where technology is the center piece, we can see this being the direction in where the market is going.
The most obvious aspect of PT using web-based B2C transactions in the future is a webstore for its health foods and fitness gear shops. Giving their customers to these services online would go a long way to PT’s goal of 24/7 fitness support. A more ambitious transaction they could implement would be a fitness tracking program to implement PT’s fitness services in more aspects of a customer’s life, not just when they are at PT’s physical locations. This could be a simple tracking application or even a full fledged PT social media platform, allowing customers to track their fitness, find like-minded members, and connect with PT officials such as licensed nutritionists and personal trainers.
As for B2B, many of the above platforms can be easily augmented via PT’s use of other businesses. For example, setting up a vendor page on Amazon.com for their health food and fitness goods shops would be significantly easier than creating a webstore from scratch. Not only that, but customers and even non-members would have access to PT’s stores thanks to Amazon’s well known and open platform of sales. Licensing use of existing fitness tracking apps would also allow PT to offer new services without the sizable overhead of having to commission programmers to create and subsequently test and update such an app. Social media needs can be accomplished via existing channels - Facebook, Google+, and Twitter are often implemented by businesses to better connect to their customers.
